Second Power Supply Mounting??
OK, here's a question for all you multiple pedal (more than 8) guys/gals....
I have a PT1, and I've mounted the Voodoo Lab PP2+ underneath (as the instructions showed).
I love this power supply, but I'm only one pedal away from it's max capacity, and I've got room for 3-4 more pedals on my board (more than 4 if I look into the micro stuff). I do intend to add some more effects so.....:bassist:
How do you guys mount a second power supply under your boards? (assuming it can be done with a PT1)
If it can't be done, what are some alternatives? I'd rather not mount a power supply "top side" but I suppose if I have too...
Before anyone suggests it, I should note I already have a 1Spot (the PP2+ replaced it)....I hate it, won't use it anymore, period.:scowl:
So, your thoughts? Maybe some pics of the underside of your board, and how you mounted your second units?
Do you mean the max capacity in terms of current draw or in terms of the 'slots' available
If the latter, find a daisychain somewhere
I hadn't thought about the daisy chain thing...hmmm
I built a daisychain cable and use it with my VooDoo Labs ISO-5 power supply. it works great. The shared ground doesn't cause any noise problems on my setup, but it depends on the pedals.
I did a bit of research, and found these...http://www.stompin-ground.com/produc...pp2.htm#ycable
Not exactly daisy chains, but actually "Y" cables to split 1 output into two. I'll probably use outputs 5 & 6 on my PP2+, as they are 250 mA, but I've read you can use any of the 100 mA outlets as well.
I think this will work better for my situation (as opposed to a daisy chain), plus I can grow as needed, and not have any extra daisy chains to have to tie up under my board. :D
