Seeking an Electronica/Synth Sound

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm a big fan of groups like the Crystal Method, Orbital etc. and want to try and get a sound that could fit in a live PA setting that could come close to sounding like this style of music.

Currently all I have is a Boss SYB-3 Bass Synth. I love the tones I'm able to get out of the SYB-3 but hate having to manually adjust it each time.

Are there any programmable rackmounts that could replace the SYB-3? What effect(s) should I concentrate on getting next in order to build a rig that can expand on this?

Thanks!

if you use synth sounds alot, then you might wanna check out a midibass, or get a midipickup fitted to your bass.
Then you will have all the synthsounds at hand in form of synthmodules or even a laptop.

Or buy a couple more of the same pedal. Problem solved !

Be like that guy who has 8 PS-3s on his board.

there are a bunch of threads around on other ways to get synth type sounds than usinig 'synth' pedals. there are a few threads about my approach, and that might work for you to expand your sound palette.

or just buy a bunch of the same pedal! that is a pretty cool/funny idea actually...

I had two OC-2s on my board for a while, simply because I use it blended with other effects sometimes and soloed sometimes, and it was cheaper to buy two OC-2s than find a pedal that could do the switching.
