So, I can see that Bass Whammys sell second hand for around AU$600 these days so I'm thinking of selling mine to fund for an Eventide Pitchfactor. Question is, is it worth it? Frankly, I don't care that the bass whammy is discontinued and rare, I'm after sounds, not a "rare pedal collection"
What I don't understand is the pitchshifting options on the Pitchfactor. The only settings I really use on my Bass Whammy are octave up, second up (for the songs I write), and octave/5th up (disposition by tool :P). Will the Pitchfactor achieve these? I noticed on the website it said you can dial in any range +/- 2 Octaves. Does this mean ANY note in that range?
Cheers,
Tom |

It can do any interval the Bass Whammy can do and a lot more. |

Possible to simulate the Whammy/Pitchfactor functions with the Axe-FX Ultra? |

There's a completed auction listed on ebay now for one that went for over $560. Even at that "low" a price, you'd still have some money left over after buying a Pitchfactor.
And if you catch a used one (like I did here on TB ) -- even better.

I used to own one, and only gave it up because I just wasn't using octave effects enough in the music I play. |

I got my Pitchfator this summer second hand and I'm still completely in love with it. There's so much you can do with this pedal it's ridiculous; I get the feeling that I'm barely scratching the surface even after playing around with it for a while. But, on the flip-side, it's not overly complicated either. A reallllyyyy great pedal if you're into octaves and general over the top crazyness.

I actually keep a list of things I wanna try with it -- next is flanging. If you haven't explored it yet, figure out how to use it as a trem; it's very rewarding before a fuzz. |
