Semiparametric EQ For Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Fellow TBers

I've got a GK RB head (3-band EQ) & a Yamaha NE-1 (2-band EQ) and I'm wondering how the Raven Labs True Blue EQ 5-band EQ might compare to the semiparametric EQs of these other two.

Does anyone have an opinion they wish to share?

Thanks

Well, for starters they are different control systems entirely. The GK is not "semiparametric" at all, it has cut/boost at fixed frequencies. The Yamaha only cuts, and only at preset EQ shapes. The Raven Labs is semiparametric, offering cut and boost across a sweepable set of frequencies. It has wider bandwidth on the "boost" side, and narrower bandwidth on the "cut" side, which is a very practical solution for avoiding having bandwidth controls per band.

Man, did I have wrong information. I re-read my GK manual (after several years) and found out how stupid my question was.

Thanks Bongomania.
