|  | Sometimes it's one more note than what was needed! | | | | | I'm searching for what the title says. Of all the pedals I've tried in the last 40 years OD and Fuzz Pedals have had little use in my world.
The progressive jazz band I'm in now is open to everything and I want to add one to my board. But I don't want to buy fifty pedals to get the right one.
Over the years I've tried a big muff Pi and several guitar fuzz pedals and they just had to much nasty grit that I just couldn't get dialed in.
Warm and creamy without to much bite is what I'm looking for.
I use active/passive, 4, 5, string and fretless.
Any suggestions? Thanks all.

But when it does get saturated the fuzz is pretty loose sounding - not warm and tight. But of course, the OP didn't ask for saturated...
The Hardwire loses its bottom end as soon as it kicks in, which to me makes it more suitable for guitar. Sorry, that's just how I hear it. What about you, low2groove?

| | Sometimes it's one more note than what was needed! | | | | | I agree. after listening to both, the pork loin definitely has a much tighter overall sound and diversity than the digitech. and certainly keeps its bottom end. I have other Digitech pedals that I really like such as the hardwire reverb.
I'll keep searching and reading opinions from this thread. Thanks

Had no chance to try it yet but it's on my GAS list. So far and from what I've heard on the net, the fuzz in itself is quite warm and creamy if you don't crank the gain to the max. But the whole magic comes from the clean blend.

Its not really an OD pedal per se, but it really does have a great fuzz tone, I think you'll really enjoy it.

Any suggestions? Thanks all. | Warm and creamy without too much grit sounds like the anti-fuzz. Seems more in OD territory to me...perhaps a SansAmp product or a Darkglass B3K.

Note it's an OD and distortion pedal, it does not go into fuzz territory.
Fuzz and soft is more complicated. Perhaps the Swollen Pickle, this pedal can achieve many, many different tones. It's kind of the chameleon of fuzz. It goes from synthy wolly mammoth gated tone to classic muff tones.
Warm is mostly a trait of EQ when it comes to fuzz, perhpas a EH Big Muff Bass might do the trick.
