it's the microsite for sabian's new line of cymbals, developed by jojo, and we did the demo videos together at SIR in manhattan...
anyway, some cool little videos with some effects stuff, and even the rare change to hear me play upright.
fun stuff. i tracked it on the bunker's mobile rig, and mixed it at the bunker... with the overheads really loud... cuz... you know... it's about the cymbals...

The tone on that track is just oc2, bugcrusher, and lowpass.
The omni is a cool cymbal... I have a few prototypes at the studio and they are really cool for lots of different music.

I have to say though I am worrying about that guy the more I see of him this year, he looks so sick. Hope he's looking after himself. |

John | Hey John,
You guys sounds great! How are your settings on your OC-2? I also like Janek Gwizdalas sound when he uses the OC-2. When I uses mine I have to play very light on the E string so it don't have distortion. Is my OC-2 not work 100 %?
What your experience with that?

What your experience with that? | It could be your bass / pickup. What are you using? Maybe try recording your bass with no effects and see if the E string clips the input and distorts.
I've got a Squier Jazz with stock pickups and when I solo the front pickup I have to be careful with the E string because it will easily overdrive anything and it's very obvious when it happens and the OC-2 is on. I really need to replace the pickups but I'm lazy. Meanwhile I've got a Warwick with stock MEC pickups / preamp that has a very even output across the strings, and I've never had that problem with this bass and my OC-2. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
