i'm not going to write a full review because there's plenty of them here, but i finally bucked up and got a st-200 today. its taken me a year to finally pull the trigger and i only wish i did it earlier. if anyone wonders "is it really worth all that extra money" and "is it that much better than a peterson", my opinion is yes all the way. it immediately grabs the note and the interface is so simple and easy to read from normal stage-use distance. just thought i'd give my $.02 in case anyone needed more convincing.

I've been digging mine for the past 3 or 4 months since I pulled the trigger on one. The immediacy of it grabbing the note, even downtuned notes and how well it holds onto the correct note once it has it... Well... It's nothing short of incredible.

The accuracy is also impressive. I had all of my basses intonated with my old Korg DTR-1000. Checking the intonation on the ST-200 showed them all to be a bit out near the top of the range. The amount is so small that it's negligible, but still a testament to its accuracy.

Yep...it's a heckuva tuner! Now, I just need to convince my bandmates to get rid of those POS Boss tuners.

I'd buy one if I didn't have a Korg Pitchblack already. Maybe if/when I build a secondary board, I'll move the PB over there and buy a Turbo Tuner for the main board

It's certainly an amazing tuner. I've owned one since they came out, and it actually replaced my Peterson Strobostomp 2 that I used to own. The LCD display on the Peterson was problematic to begin with, and the poor resolution on the three strobe sections made tuning more of a guesstimate than anything. The Turbo Tuner on the other hand is deadly accurate, picks up notes almost immediately, and is much smaller to boot. It definitely gets my recommendation (for whatever that is worth) for bassists.

For guitarists, super heavy gauge/high tension strings, or those with a floating/tremolo bridge, I'd highly recommend the TC Electronic PolyTune as the polyphonic mode makes the annoyances of having to tune all the strings, re-tune them a few times, and then finally play, a thing of the past.

Micro-review.

I just received my Turbo Tuner after reading the resoundingly positive reviews on here, and after watching the YouTube videos demonstrating it's incredible tracking.

I used it to intonate and tune up a project bass I've been abusing for a few years; it's a Squire Affinity, with a slightly warped neck and a Schaller replacement bridge. The Turbo Tuner did a terrific job not only tracking the notes as quickly as I could play them, but also helping me zero in on the intonation. The project bass now plays more in tune than it ever has, and helped me get the instrument setup to the point where I feel a little bad abusing it now.

I used to use a Korg non-pedal tuner, which had an accuracy of 1 cent. It did it's job, but I needed a tuner on the board and immediately accessible for my bass with a Kahler whammy bar (which doesn't actually go out of tune that often, I'm just rough on things). I'll know after this Friday how well the Turbo Tuner operates on the floor, on my board, live, but I'm anticipating it'll work perfectly!

Yup, the immediacy of grabbing the note is why I recommend this tuner over any other. The "Turbo" in the name Turbo Tuner is really not an exaggeration!

Some choose to ignore all this praising and stick with their own tuners, and that's fine! Personal preference does count, and no one is trying to rob people of their freedom of choice. They might be REALLY HAPPY with their current tuners, but fact is they would be happier with an ST-200.

I've never seen someone get a turbo tuner and be like "eh, i miss my other one." It just doesn't happen

the only thing i'll say is i spend WAY longer tuning before a show. probably a good thing. i'm so worried about it being perfect. after buying this i also realized it was time to have all of my basses set up. awesome though, it grabs the note immediately and is unbelievably accurate.

i have a complain to make. after using it for the last six months i started hearing very subtle out-of-tunes in mid-song. got compulsive obsessive tuning disorder. ))

I LOVE it. I don't think it's really that expensive considering what you get. In fact, it's on my list of "top all-time best gear purchases" I've ever made, right up there with my LMII and JDI!
