Sound effects

Not sure if this is in the right forum or not. I need to put some crickets, birds chirping, and some wind and wind chimes into a recording. Where does one go about getting sound effects?

Get a nice synthesizer...then you can get a MIDI pick up fot your bass or do it the easy way and play in on the keyboard.

You can buy CD's of those sounds, usually in a big "library" of hundreds of sounds per disc. Just look up "sound effects" on Ebay and loads of those discs will show up in the results. The sounds are also available for download (typically for a price) from several businesses that specialize in this sort of thing. For free, Google "crickets.wav" or "chirping.wav" etc., you'll have to hunt around in the results but you'll probably find a few free downloads.

freesound offers loads of samples, somewhat varying in quality but overall fairly good
