Sound/effects question

Sign in to disble this ad
So, Im fairly happy with the sound that I have found, but I feel it isnt giving me the tubey, gritty, tone full of low/mid range that Im looking for. I am running a Carvin BX1200 bridged into a early 90's Ampeg 4X10 8 ohm (i think) at 800 watts; effects pedals are a Sans Amp Bass Driver (single stomp) more for the tubey, low end effect, into a Boss ODB 3 Overdrive, then the standard boss tuner. Im starting to feel that the ODB is getting a little useless, as it cuts out pretty much all low end even with the bass knob set at 11! The Sans Amp although I originally got it for the drive and grit that I was under the impression it would produce, I like more for the Tubey warmth rather than the drive (drive pretty much set to 0). My question is, what types of effects should I add to get the These Arms Are Snakes/Big Business type of sludgy, gritty bass sounds full of the middy/low end? Im playing in a progressive rock band on the lines of quicksand, Thursday, Mars Volta. Thinking about an octaver, maybe an EQ stomp pedal, and definitely a new overdrive/distortion. Any questions or input is welcome! Thanks!

GANZ
