To sound like a guitar...

Sign in to disble this ad
a-ight, so I was jammin with a guitard buddy o' mine a few days ago, and we randomly decided to try my Carvin IC5 through his Digitech GNX3, and it sounded just like a lead guitar. No joke, I started playin' Surfin with the alien (satch, for those who aren't privy to his most famous song), and his bro came out and said "hey man, nice guitar work... oh.. wait, what?".

So I was wonderin, is there a certain distortion pedal I should procure in order to get a guitar sound? I was thinkin of gettin one of the cheaper digitech guitar multi-effects, would that work?

I use a Metalzone MT2 to play powerchords when recording on my own, saves having to get a guitar out, any pedal that suck the low end would do the job.

por que?

I like to record alota solo work, and it'd be nice to be able to record a guitar without actually having to go buy a guitar.

I use a Krank "Distortus Maximus" for guitar/bass distortion. Little pricey but you might like it.

Of all of the distortions I've tried, the Metal Zone always handled chords the best imo.

Perusing your post with my profound powers of prognostication and deduction produces a picture of the processor you pine for.

You already had the answer.

BTW did you ever review your Icon bass? I would like to read about it if you did.

the problem with that is it's a wee bit more cash than I'm willing to spend.

Would this thing work?

I used to do a 2 bass and drums project with myself running through a whammy to take myself up an octave and then through a crappy Boss distortion. We did a great version of YYZ!!!!!

You are probably going to be limited to single note lines no matter how you run it up an octave.

Icon, I must agree with our somewhat inarticulate friend. As far as multi's go, Digitech is usually among the worst. Poor effects combined with not-fantastic build quality.
