a-ight, so I was jammin with a guitard buddy o' mine a few days ago, and we randomly decided to try my Carvin IC5 through his Digitech GNX3, and it sounded just like a lead guitar. No joke, I started playin' Surfin with the alien (satch, for those who aren't privy to his most famous song), and his bro came out and said "hey man, nice guitar work... oh.. wait, what?".
So I was wonderin, is there a certain distortion pedal I should procure in order to get a guitar sound? I was thinkin of gettin one of the cheaper digitech guitar multi-effects, would that work?

I like to record alota solo work, and it'd be nice to be able to record a guitar without actually having to go buy a guitar.

You already had the answer.
BTW did you ever review your Icon bass? I would like to read about it if you did. |

the problem with that is it's a wee bit more cash than I'm willing to spend.
Would this thing work?

You are probably going to be limited to single note lines no matter how you run it up an octave.
