Soundclips of GRUNGE Pedal as Bass Distortion

Sign in to disble this ad
I did the Great Crunchy Distortion thread and was asked for a soundclip of using the Grunge. I just posted the soundclips but as I simply posted them as a reply its probably lost in the thread instead of what was asked for (I know, I ended on a prepostion). So heres the soundclips as a separate thread. Hope it helps.

Well, OK, finally got some sound clips up of using a Digitech Grunge pedal for distortion on a bass. The pedal is for metal guitar but I am really liking it for my bass. Tho not the best recording, they came out pretty good to show the clarity vs distortion of this pedal. I had the Grunge set at 50% Grunge with Low and High both at between 10-11 o'clock positions and LOUD was sent at 7 o'clock. Am playing a Langcaster bass thru a Laney RB9 head into a Laney 4x10 cab. EQ was fairly flat. The 3 songs up thru this pedal were specifically played as they were, expressly FOR the distortion, grooving was not the intent...thats on other songs. So, I have them on my Soundclick page at the following url.
My 3 bass songs with this pedal will be "One Way Through" (my favorite and most fun to play), "Double A" and "Nightclub Hero". The others are with different effects other than the Grunge.

No matter what, a guitar will never sound the same as a bass through distortion. I actually prefer the sound of a bass used as a rhythm guitar...

Sounds neat. I've used a Grunge on bass a bit too. Still have it somewhere...
