I'm really into what can keep the bite of my distorted sound despite the modulation with modulation pedals, and where that's concerned the subtler the better. |

It's kind of a slight coloration, and I think that would be easy to use in a band situation just to add a little spice. I could definitely see getting away with using that tone a lot. A deeper, less subtle phase is cool too, but depending on what kind of bass line you're playing you might not want something that completely takes over the tone. I like adding a little spice with a phaser, the guitar player in my band is really into that too, he uses the EVH Phase 90 with the script switch. Has a lot of potential to get a little different texture. |

How does it compare to the nano small stone? |

| | Banned | | Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Michigan | | | The Nano Small Stone is a deeper and darker phaser, it does also get more subtle when you lower the rate, which I kind of like it with a low rate, maybe around 10 o'clock, but it still robs my bite with my overdrive like that, which I don't remember if the modded Phase 90 will do that. I never use the color switch on the EHX because the effect gets too intense for me with it, but it can be kind of funky. |
