Sounds like imminent meltdown-ish

Looking for a pedal that will give me an extreme overdrive-type sound that is alarmingly familiar to the sound you'd experience if both your input and output transistors were on fire AND the speaker in the cab is in the process of taking a dump. In my head I hear something super bassy, yet crunchy, and almost bubbly sounding. Any ideas?

Thanks
Ted

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHH

No. Maybe something Dwarfcraft for the crunch and bassy, blow the crap out of your amp sound? Not sure about the bubbly part.

I'd be interested to hear suggestions on this too, as I'm chasing a similar tone.

Have you checked out the EBS Metal Drive?

Maybe mixing that with a Fultone Fat Boost or something similar would get you close, maybe...

Throw in an envelope filter of some kind?

I need to go to a place that has a decent selection of pedals so I can mix and match, but there really isn't anyplace close by for me...

transistors and speakers getting destroyed definitely sounds to me like you're looking for a fuzz more than an overdrive. I'd recommend checking out some of the guys over ilovefuzz.com, like dwarfcraft, fuzzhugger, smallsound/bigsound (particularly the year 4545), etc.

Pretty close

The EBS Metaldrive sounds like it can get pretty close to what I'm looking for. Capable of excessive nastiness without too much shrill "metal distortion" sounds. I'll also check out ilovefuzz and see if that gets me closer.

Thanks for all of the suggestions

Dwarfcraft,...specifically the Shiva or The Great Destroyer or the Eu Clair Thunder.

I want a SS/BS year 4545 as well.

It's a guitar demo but this one here for TGD.....is titz/lulz/etc.
