It's all new modulation effect, never before heard by living human ears!

I know, let's start a guessing game. I'm bored.

My first guess is an octaver, something a digital pedal should be brilliant at doing.

^ I'll have to one-up you there and go with an octaver/harmonizer. That would be something I could see Source Audio absolutely nailing.

But I already have a pitchfactor... I neeeeeed a synth now!!!

But yeah source can probably whoop the harmonizer niche.

Oooh, that would be a cool idea. Given even just 11 settings like with the Tri-Mod, or 22 like with the BEF, so many options. The Hot Hand could modulate the harmony.

I really want a synth where the settings are editable directly from the unit itself, not from the computer like the Markbass SS and Chunk Systems Octavius Squeezer. Barring that an octaver with an octave up option and squarewave generator would be nice. Maybe something like a OC-2, Micro POG and Prunes and Custard rolled into one.

Doesn't Moog have the market on Synth cornered?

well they build pedals for a modular approach... it’s a different concept then a standalone synth pedal. Each of their stompboxes contains a piece of the puzzle (wave form, ring mod, envelope, phaser, etc) with lots of routing options and the ability to control individual parameters via foot pedal… but each box is $240-550 new, are very large, & have poor bypasses. Unless you put all of the moog’s into a loop there’s no way to turn them all on at once- and that’s only 1 saved sound, presets are imprtante! Everyone has their own desires for a synth pedal but I think some of the features people are hoping for when hoping for a “synth” want would include something true ADSR, up/downswept filters with quick retrigger and no tracking issues, multiple waveforms (square, saw, triangle, pulse), multiple oscillators and the ability to change wave forms for each oscillator.

I would also like to see (and this is pretty far out there) a way to use the expression pedal on the pro models to morph between presets on two different pedals. For example between a preset on the envelope filter to a preset on the multiwave.

That would be pretty cool.

I was thinking today that it'd be cool to be able to turn on more than one preset at any given time, almost like what a Line 6 M9 does. That way, in the case of the BWMD, you could have several different synth/ dirt tones running into each other, making bigger and badder noises!

Hmm, looks like I've been inadvertently dropped from the list. You've got me at #42 in post post #857 but I seem to have been replaced. I don't usually care about numbers but as a New Yorker, 42 is a cool one.....a Mariano Rivera thing. Not that I expect you Boston guys to understand....

Hey now! We've got a world of respect for Mo in Boston. You saw how hard we cheered for him during the '05 ring ceremony ;-)

Actually, the Octa Squeeze is not editable from a computer...on unit control only. Although, computer editing will make this pedal thousand times easier to program.

Really? I thought it had some software component?

honestly I think I prefer editing with software... it can be laid out in a much more logical manner... ever use a vst? there are sooo many options available it could be mind boggling to try and keep track of it all via pedal interface. I originally thought it was a drawback to the MBSS but I've come to really like it. With all the hassle I’ve heard of having to edit the OS via one line/parameter at a time that sounds like way more trouble than it’s worth.

Kwesi would you really be changing your synth sounds that much live? Do you adjust your other pedals often when on stage?
