| | | Hi, I've had my BEF pro for about a week now, just remembered that i should sign up, so sign me up!
One funky thing though, i was fooling around with my the BEF pro w/ hot hand plugged in, just about an hour ago and as I clicked the first preset off, radio noise of a guy speaking about something (traffic?) came out of nowhere. I thought it was my radio alarm clock at first but then i realized it was coming from my amp. I sort of freaked out and switched my amp off then back, and it was gone. I kept on experimenting, and once again, when i was flipping the preset off, about ten minutes later, more radio noise came on, this time a woman, but more distorted than before. after 5 seconds, before i could do anything it just stopped. I tried clicking the preset button a couple more times but nothing. ...is this something that can actually happen, or should i be afraid of my pedal now?

A while back I remember reading about another pedal on this forum where some radio interference impacted a pedal board. It is not likely the pedal itself, but more likely the cables going in and out which are serving as some kind of antenna. I will ask Jesse today and see if he has any thoughts.
Unlike some small pedal makers, we invest about $10,000 for each pedal to go through a complete battery of 3rd party compliance tests to ensure that we are not emmitting radio signals. In theory, all companies are required to do this and some do not. Berringer was actually fined for violating this rule (or so I am told). Anyway, we failed on our first product and this caused us to be very careful during the design phase to ensure our pedals are not receiving or emitting RF.
Can I suggest you send me a PM and describe your exact signal chain and set up? We will get to the bottom of this one way or the other. |

The product description is quite clear on what it does: "The Soundblox Pro Bass Envelope Filter is an evolution of its hugely popular predecessor, the standard Soundblox BEF. As before, there are 22 different envelope filter effects to choose from including 2 Pole and 4 Pole Low Pass variations, Single Peak, Triple Peak, Peak/Notch variations, as well as Phaser settings. Each of these settings can be further modified with a variety of control options including positive/negative filter sweeps, sweep range, attack and decay speed settings, or frequency range selection.
In this Pro version, users are able to choose from four different modulation sources including standard envelope filter sweeps, selectable LFO wave forms, a passive expression pedal and the Hot Hand motion sensing ring. An expression pedal input can be used to control filter modulation like in a standard wah pedal or a wide variety of parameters including sweep range, effect selection, LFO speed and more. As in our other Pro Series pedals, the BEF Pro features three footswitches to hold six customizable presets but also includes an option for Tap Tempo LFO on one of the footswitches. "
In other words, this is a filter pedal with a wide means of control over the movement of the filter. There are also 2 phaser settings. It is not a flexible as our phaser pedals, but it does have these two sounds included.
It does not have an octave shifting effect. |

I think it was due to a bad power-filtering cap in my MWBD Pro - try changing your PSU, fixed it for me. |

I had the MWBD Pro about 6 months ago but it didn't do it for me. I went through a decent filter search, really liked several, all had their pros and cons. The last two filters that I had sounded great but were really hard to dial in or keep the same sound on the same setting from the previous day. Other LPFs were too powerful, easy to damage some speakers if you weren't careful.
Well, I am glad I tried SA again! What an easy to dial in filter, the backpage is logical and simple yet effective.
Great Job guys! |

I made some more today to test it and they are gone as soon as I switch off that preset. I am saving them correctly. I am using the supplied power supply. I had a few saved presets for the last few days (I just got the pedal). |

He said that he is very careful to keep the capacitance on the input at the lowest level possible. This gives the pedals a nice tranparent quality. However, it can run the risk of picking up RF on the input. It is easy for us to make a slight modification. Just contact us via our web site and we will make arrangements. You can also try another power supply and see if that works. We will make sure you are happy one way or the other. Let us know via the contact page on our site. Thanks and sorry you are having any issues! |

You can fix it via MIDI, or send us the pedal and we will update the software. Use the SA contact form on our web site to make arrangements. I wonder where you got the pedal. We have not seen this in over a year. Sorry! We will make it right for you. |

I've got a couple question about the SB2s:
-Will they take a 0-5v CV, or only 0-3v3 and expression as the Pro line?
-I've heard rumors about a two-way MIDI link for external preset saving, is this coming in the SB2s?
-Will the SB2 filter have both resonance and wet/dry knobs? |
