yeah, have anyone here tried out this little thing ?
It looks awesome, but im not sure if i want to buy yet.
Anyone here who can help me out with some knowledge about this stuff ? |

The Hot Hand is most useful for controlling filters such as the Bass Envelope Filter or Tri-Mod Wah. It works with our distortion pedals, but it is a bit less interesting. Most people buy the BEF or Tri-Mod to use it with as an envelope filter and get the Hot Hand as an option later. If you decice that you like the Hot Hand, you can buy a wireless version.
Hot Hand seems to be effective for use with bass to create "wobble" sounds. A bassist by the name of Nathan Navarro has been doing some creative work in this area. Our own Will Cady has also done some great stuff.
Hot Hand is not for everyone. I will let other independent TB folks comment further about this. |

I actually mainly use mine with my SA flanger, but am getting into filter pro too. I have a wired version so not as good for live performance but still works a treat.

Essentially you wave your hand over to infared sensors and it effects the sample. Now I see this in the Pinn Penelle vid and he has a little ring on and he is moving his hands towards the pickups.
Does the ring interact with the pickups somehow or is there something else you have to install on the bass. I can't seem to find much about how this aspect of this works. I am very interested in it but want it to work with out adding a bunch of stuff or modding my bass.
Maybe the pres of source audio can chime back in.

The HH ring responds to acceleration and has nothing to do with how close or far it is to your bass or the pickups.

There is no need to mod your bass. It is used just like a wah pedal, except the controller is now on your finger. |

What's the difference between using it with Soundblox and SB Pro pedals and the Hot Hands Wah, Phaser/Flanger, and MIDI controller? Are they more expressive somehow?

Are they more expressive somehow? | The SB pro pedals have the back page where you can change parameters of HH like axis and how sensitive it is. Pro pedals also have the HH sensor out so you can daisy chain multiple SB pedals together to share the HH signal.
I suppose you could go with wired version, but wireless give you freedom, but costs more and you do have to keep it charged.
HH does different things on different pedals, SA has all the manuals on their website to explain what each does.
IMO it's an amazing feature that is very fun to use.

Im using a Markbass 104HF amp with the little mark 250 head and I can get quite a good sound with that. I might invest in the Tri-Mod flanger and see what I can do  Cheers for the video though. |

Cheers | Nathan Navarro uses the Hot Hand MIDI-EXP with the SYB-5, so it is very likely that the Hot Hand Wah Filter works with it too. Can I assume you are using the Expression Out of the Hot Hand Wah? Are you using a 3 lead TRS style connector between the 2 boxes? |
