I made a short YouTube vid some time ago to demonstrate the midi clock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlGrLHA4Krw

Or does it....Jesse?? |

You can use the MIDI clock as tap tempo, but then you get the cool "speed multiplier", where the speedknob (and expression to ditto) is broken into regions (1/8 1/4 etc.) But when using taptempo, that doesn't work... that kinda sucks.
Oh also I decoded the MIDI message needed to set the LFO-custom waveshape. Gimme a shout if you want it. |

But I'm not really doing much live LFO stuff at the moment plus my new setup actually gives me access to the tap tempo. We do everything to click, can you save the midi clock tempo to a preset once you get it going? That may work better for me anyway. |

First things first - I can control the morph feature on the Multiwave Bass Distortion via MIDI... Totally works, which is awesome! I'll be incorporating it into my MIDI set up.
Now back to the BEF Pro. I think I may have an older firmware since CC 24 does nothing. I'm not sure if I have to do any additional setup, so that may have something to do with it. I'll see if Jesse can provide us with more info. After going back and reading the posts from the previous S.A.S.S. thread, I figured out that this DOES work. So far so good...
Anyway, I did get control of the Speed via MIDI...but that success was short lived. I had MIDI clock out on the Modfactor turned off. Once I introduced MIDI clock, I got the same error I was getting last night - LFO is synched (I think it defaults at 1/4 beats), move the expression pedal, LFO changes for a second then reverts back to default speed (beat subdivision). For my unit, it seems to get confused by the MIDI CC and MIDI clock coming in at the same time.
Does Source have a firmware update for this? Am I missing something else?
Thanks for listening...

With that, all of my delays, modulations, wobbles, etc are synched to my preset tempos that also feeds my drummer's metronome. I got the idea from Zach Rizer (TB's Proton Lenny) who uses this with his band Mouth. Check out what he does with it at www.abandcalledmouth.com - very cool stuff!
I'd like to get that synching with additional MIDI control (if possible).... |

Question, if you turn off the midi clock, do the devices synced to it stay at the same tempo the mid clock set them at?

I think so. I haven't done hardcore testing of this but once MIDI clock establishes a tempo and then I unplug my MIDI (or turn the clock out off), the tempo continues as is. Problem is the RC-50 doesn't have the best MIDI clock and tends to float a little bit. My factors readjust the BPM every now and then. |

Please excuse the audio, its just the iPad mic picking up my amp, but it doesn't sound too bad. I basically used whatever presets I had already and didn't do any instrument specific tweaking to the SA pedals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c30odksoth8&sns=em |

really looking forward to the BEF 2. three save spots and the eq are kinda overkill for me.
need to get around to splicing the wireless controller's cord into a Cioks cable so i can power it off my power supply. i kinda want to have a spot there with the little controller and a ring attached to the board. i have two wireless rings, it'd be good to have one always charging there.
anybody done that all neat and elegant like?

Thanks again,..truly do appreciate it! | There's been a lot of questions about the Hot Hand on a non-Pro BEF. The lack of the clean/wet blend may be the problem. And remember to put a fuzz before the BEF to boost its effect.
Now you're going to have to come to one of my gigs to hear what a BEF-Pro can do. The LFO is pretty fun too, but I haven't found a way to fit it into our current setlist.
I'm actually having the most fun with the Hot Hand 3 on headstock doing whammy dive bombs with M5 , hehe. |
