Spaghetti western sound from a Hellcat VI

Any suggestions on pedals/effects to get the classic spaghetti western sound from a Hellcat VI (30" scale 6 string bass) and a Fender Rumble 100 (solid state, combo, 100 W). Some kind of reverb pedal?

Clean tone. Pick near the bridge. A little reverb. Maybe some eq'ing required.

Yes, a reverb and delay should get you pretty far toward getting that sound in your head.

I own a Hellcat VI along with several Danelectro baritones. What fun.

I just bought a Marshall Reflector reverb pedal. Holy cow, this thing is amazing.

Here is the classic sound, Jet Harris (1962), although it's not actually from a spaghetti western:http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-8W9qe-2Xo

I think that one of these plus some reverb (maybe some tremolo for special occasions) should get you there with bells on. I also prefer the LaBella flatwounds on my VI, ymmv

Just curious, did you ever try switching over your Dano baritone to a six string bass? If so, what adjustments did you have to make? The baritones seem to be plentiful on Ebay, but not the six string basses that Duane Eddy used.

Yes, I have one of my Dano baritones set up for Bass VI. It's pretty easy, and I think that was the original intent. Heavier string gauge (obviously), ensure the replacement nut is slotted for the larger gauge (switching out the nut on a Danelectro is a simple one-screw process), and adjust truss rod for higher tension. Instant transformation. I can take this Dano back and forth from baritone to Bass VI in minutes.

I also tune several of my baritones down to A on the sixth string, which gives me another step lower than the more common B on the sixth.
