Sub bass

I play in a prog/djent metal band. I would like to be able to get some super low sub bass. Not necessarily dubstep/house music sub but I want everyone to be able to feel the bass and to get the rafter shaking a little bit. I'm currently running ESP 5 string basses through a boss ODB-3 pedal, a boss NS-2, a fender rumble 350 head, Acoustic 410 and 115 cabs. I want to get this sub bass but still maintain the punchiness and attack. Should I be looking at adding a cab or maybe just an octave pedal? (I also posted this in the amps section)

I am able to get a really thick sub sound two ways. 1.) My POG2 octave pedal with the -2 octave mixed heavily over the dry signal. 2.) I also have the old Boss super shifter with the dive bomb setting to -1 octave. The super shifter gives you a true sub sound, and the POG has much more presence due to the dry signal mix capability. It is also very helpful to scoop the mids a little.

Try a Xerograph Deluxe, mixing the Low frequencies in with your clean sound. I use this when I get a really nice distortion/fuzz but need that bottom filled in. The Frequency knob can get you bowl-shaking subs to filled-out bottom
