Suggestions requested...

My pedalboard has been years in the making. Maybe 8+ years. If you don't understand, I have difficulty with choices and I'm a perfectionist. I want everything to be perfectly the way that I want it to be before I commit to velcro. Velcro seems so permanent and what if I change my mind?? Anyways, enough of the nightmare that is wrapped up in my personality disorders. Heh...

I've just about settled on the perfect pedalboard, a Pedaltrain 1 that's just the right size. And here's the lineup (almost). I have a MXR Bass Octave Deluxe, Turbo-tuner on the way and I'm ordering a EBS MultiComp tomorrow.

I'm not going to ask for pedal order suggestions, everyone does that. I'll be mounting the PedalPower 2 tomorrow night. Drilling into the pedalboard. Permanent. Must. Sit. Down. Nah, just kidding.

Anyways, the main question I have is with daisy chaining the power supply to more than one pedal. Boss makes an eight spot daisy chain, but that's way more than I need. Does anyone make a daisy chain for just two or three effects?

Another question: what did you put on the pedalboard? Hooks or loops? I'm leaning toward loops on the board and hooks on the pedals.

I've searched but I didn't find many shots of the bottom of pedal boards. If you have a shot of your bottom handy, please post. (Ok, that sounded terrible, but I'll keep it for the humor factor.)

Thanks (and sorry for the noise in the picture)!

Loops on the pedalboard, hooks on the pedals. So that your pedals will stick to other pedalboards i.e. those covered in speaker cabinet carpet.

Thanks! That's what I thought, but the instructions said to decide which one you wanted to put on the pedal board. What??!! They can't decide.

Thanks. Appreciate it.

I'd say hook ("angry" side) on the pedals and loop ("fuzzy" side) on the board. Most pedalboards are built this way.

As far as daisy chains for 2-3 pedals, I do not know of any, but you can get some 1-Spot MC-5 5-plug daisy chain adapters and only use 2-3 of the plugs. It's what I've done in the past with my PP2+ (and am currently doing with a few pedals on the board).

Oh yeah. I'd use industrial strength velcro in lieu of the stuff they supply you with the pedaltrain. It sticks much better and won't start coming un-done if you leave the pedalboard in the trunk for a while.

Thanks for the tip. Didn't think of that.

PedalPower 2 successfully installed. I took Norm Abram's advice and measured twice and cut (or drilled in this case) once. Since the screws on top of the power supply were rubbing against the frame, so I put some tape between the pedalpower 2 and the frame. Probably won't do anything, but it won't hurt either.

There are three weak spots on this pedal board layout. The BF-3, the AW-3 and the H2O Chorus. I like them, but they're not the absolute final. I may swap them out for an EBS Chorus, Hardwire Delay and I'll probably keep the AW-3 on there, but it may get swapped out with the lowly Digitech BSW that I love. See what I mean about making decisions???

Yeah the stuff that comes with a PT, the hooks and loops stick together better then the glue does on the pedals and if you play or are in a humid place it gets worse

Make sure if you have unused plugs on your daisy chain, you cover the metal tips with the provided plastic sleeves - I have seen sparks and have had pedals act very strangely when too close to exposed power.

I've never seen provided plastic sleeves but you can make your own by cutting off pieces of plastic tubing from a hardware store.

so you wanna see bottoms, eh?

i'm pretty happy with my setup on my pt. jr.

if you look at the pedal train jr. thread in the effects forum, phatbass has done an awesome job dealing with his cables. as far as mine, a few zip-ties and some small, cheap(1.99) cable holders from radio shack keep mine nice and clean.

oh, yeah... hook on the pedals

Maybe they came with the Roland/Boss daisy-chain? Not sure where I got them, but they came with something or other.

It is also real easy to chop those daisy chain cables into shorter lengths and heat shrink the ends. That way an 8 link daisy chain can become 2 - 3link and 1 - 2link. Cut to fit how you please. I like to fold over one of the leads (after cutting - before heat shrinking) to insulate the ends from one another. This saved me a couple bucks and made my setup a little more versatile.

That makes sense since it's just a cable that's running in parallel. Thx!

Don't know if you saw it but here's a thread with some good info.
Setting up a clean Pedaltrain board: tips & tricks thread

When placing those sticky cable holders on the underside, clean the area where you will apply them at with something first, I use lighter fluid. That's my $.02
