And on the Sunday, Toasted made a fuzz pedal

This isn't a build thread, this is me showing off my new BYOC ESV Fuzz. I made the Jack Orman pickup simulator mod, so it works great with my active and passive basses. I also added two of Beavis Audio's excellent mods - cheers Dano

I got this gorgeous enclosure from Adam @ Swankbox (cheers mate!) and I couldn't bring myself to cover it with even the coolest knobs, so I put all of the controls on the inside. The Two switches are for Beavis Audio mods

Check the Youtooob for the coolest trick of all

Check out the LED function @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XiSQoMgBTk

Cool LED, what controls it? Does it just cycle through the different colours when it's on?

Can we hear it? In the meantime - nice LED!

Seems a totally inadequate compliment for a fuzz pedal...

The cycling LED is like the equivalent of two blue ones!

The EHX Stereo Electric Mistress has a special purpose for its color-cycling LED.

What's the purpose on this pedal?

Or maybe it's the same as Navin R. Johnson's special purpose!

So in other words, Toasted's purpose for existence = LED's purpose for existence?

I don't know him that well, but perhaps TaySte can chime in as to the nature of Toasted's special purpose?

I don't like where this is heading... so:

Alot of people have been asking about the LED and it's not really practical. That LED draws approx 50mA. It was worth it to give it a go. But pretty pointless in general use in pedals.

Where has all the good spirit of "because he can" gone?

Who cares what it draws, what the point is etc etc, it's custom pedal it can be as wacky as he wants only he's going to be using it.

Personally I love the inside knobs I have 2 pedals where I really wish they were like that.

I would not call looking totally awesome "pointless". In fact, it's totally awesome! Who doesn't want their gear to look cool?

Of course, we all want our gear to sound good, too. (Subliminal request: clips? )
