that's the only thing that makes a SC more than a glorified muff IMO. And it only goes up to flat mids, wth?

when I create the Thundermuff, it will have mid cut AND boost knobs.

Don't forget the depth knob! It affects the amount of low end going into the first gain stage. Set at minimum where I like it best it's very bassy but can overload in a bad way if using a hot bass. If you turn it up a bit it sounds lesh mushy and more cutting.

wouldn't a single knob that's flat at 12 o'clock be more practical (both as a builder and as a user)?

Boosted mids in a muff circuit sound like a big fat raspberry though.

I still want to try the supercollider though.

that's your opinion. lots of people say that about boosted mids of any kind. And that's how we ended up with midscoop mania, which brings us to the present, where scooped mids are another taboo!

Myself, I like a big fat midrange hump for distorted sounds. Too bad both my fuzz pedals are scoopy!

Bingo. I love boosted mids in my clean tone and my overdriven tone, but for my fuzz, I like flat or scooped mids. If I want to cut through a band, I would use a mid humped overdrive before the fuzz with a clean blend. Aka my Gemini into my Pickle Pie. It's pretty cutting, loud, and feedbacks pretty easily, but it definitely cuts.

I'll measure it and see if those mids really are flat. Sounds like a bit of a boost to me due to the sheer amount of midrange harmonics added so we shall see...

Thank you for the clips... and thank you for using soundclick for these clips. For some reason I've not been able to listen to the clips you posted on the other site.

I have the mini version of this pedal. I'm not certain that it is my cup-o-tea. But I really need to spend more quality time with it. Dannybouy, thanks for your suggestion for the settings. I don't quite know why, when I got both my Flying Tomato and the B*ssmaster it was so easy to get what I was looking for.

I thought the mid and treble knobs were boost/cut. They sound flat to me at noon....

My understanding is that the mid knob is cut only. I'venever used one to be honest, but thats what folks here tell me.

This thing sounds Awesome thru my amp. And yes I did mean to cap that.

It's almost lower, or smother gain than both my Pickle and Goat. Like those tho, running into the XXL with 0 gain and messing with the warp knob yields more Awesome.

Can you compare it to the Swollen Pickle please? I'm thinking of buying one. But I didn't like the Supercollider.

I also love my Supercollider, even though its just got a mid-switch (which doesn't bother me nearly as much as it seemed to bother 'Screech).

SC fanboi here. It's beat out the Messdrive and AB-Synth for the permanent () fuzz spot on my board. Reason being that it plays nice with filters and modulation. It's simply amazing with the OC-2 before and a Q-Tron or 442 after.

I will do. Sometime this week. Its something I've wanted to do for a while actually. Just waiting on the SC to arrive LOL.

The Pickle is definitely "higher" gain sounding and more gritty than smooth.
