Sustain & delay

Need advice on a sustain/delay pedal that wil allow me to play a very long ground note (endless till I switch it off), keeping the volume level, and meanwile be able to play solo over that ground note.
No distortion, flanging etc., just the clean long note.

A looper might suffice better than delay.

You're describing a looper, not a delay or sustain.

I'd love to get a looper, not for soloing over or anything, but mainly so I could play some noise and go get a beer and come back.

Loops arent cheap! I think the Boss DD5 has a loop, the DD3 doesn't.

I suggest Boss RC2, Akai Headrush, or the JamMan.

Research these:
Line 6 DL-4
Boss RC50, RC20xl & RC2
Digitech Jamman
Boomerang
There's a ton more- these are just the first off the top of my head.

Thanks again, you all have been a great help, and quick as well. Now's the time to go out and see how much these nice pedals will set me back. And those beers will come on top of that...

Check the classifieds on here and the other boards, then get to ebay and craigslist for your lowest prices. In-store will be your highest, in general.

Basically, do you want just a looper or a looper that also has delay?

the Boss SYB-5 can also hold a note and let you play clean over it for as long as you keep holding the pedal down. Probably not what you're looking for, just thought I'd chime in.

Maybe another good idea, but standing on one leg holding down the pedal... no way you can go off stage to get a beer. I would like to record a loop while I play, not before, and improvise over it.

rratasjki: thanks for the money saving ideas!
