Sweeping Filter?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm new to effects so I'm not sure what I am looking for.

The effect that I want can usually be heard in some techno or ambient songs. Basically, it is a sweeping filter that sweeps up and down. To me the effect sounds like it has less gain when it is at low sweep and higher gain and high sweep.

I've heard that maybe I can acheive that sound with some envelope filters? If you know what I'm talking about, any reccomendations?

In addition to low-pass filters, I've also heard phasers used in electronic music.....especially for long, slow sweeps over several measures.

Jacques Trinity Wah. Runs on 9v, and it's slightly smaller than a compact Boss pedal.

Yes, could be a phaser, otr even a flanger, as well as an envelope filter you're talking about. A sample sound would help alot.

I'll see what I have at home to post a sample. I'll check out the phasers and see if that is what I am looking for, thanks for the tips.

I definitely want something like the Jacques Trinity Wah, or some of the other phasers. They will allow me to do what I want. Very nice.

The best intro to a song that features the sound I was thinking of is Around the World. I also like the sound of a faster sweep on longer held notes. Great for some bass background during slower stuff.

Any other suggestions I may want to check out? My local stores probably won't have most of these pedals so I either need something from Guitar center that will work, or buy online.

I was hoping to get one for around $100 but quality bass effects always $200ish.
