Nice! Thanks for the demo. Very organic, full sounding and touch responsive. I ordered a B drive a month ago. They do take a while to ship but worth the wait by the sounds of it. Do you recall what brand of 12AT7 it was?

It's a NOS Mullard tube

So I currently have Sousa's B-Peg as well as my B-Drive, and as I was setting up my board, I noticed that our power supplies are different, His is a 12vac putting out 1000mA, and mine is a 12vac putting out 500mA.
Am I underpowering my pedal? or should it run ok at 500mA?

Hmmmmm.....your Swell was sounding awesome with that adapter when I was playing through it. Here's what Mike said, though.

These are available at the SWELL website store in the accessory area.

Please excuse my slaughtering of a Zeppelin riff, but here are two clips of Sousa's B-Peg, one with the stock JJ 12AX7 and one with a NOS Mullard 12AT7.

both clips go clean tone>gain at 5>gain at 9

I recorded into Ampkit with the amp simulation off.

Wow. Very nice playing. I love your dry sound. What cha usin'?

Man......that 12AT7 you have sounds pretty awesome in it. EXTREMELY transparent. And the gain didn't sound too much at 5. MikeO told me he'd do the lower gain mod for me....but I'm wondering if I would even need it or if I just need to get a tube like yours. With the stock in it, I remember you were saying it was too much gain for you, was the gain more to your taste with your 12AT7 or was it still a bit too much?

Very nice playing.

Thanks, my dry sound was my Carvin LB75 (Koa neck and body, Ebony Fretboard) with the tone controls set for no boost/cut, pickup balance centered. currently strung with Fodera .135T Nickles. Then the Swell, and iRig into Ampkit on the iPad.

The B-Peg did sound nice with the 12AT7, but it is still a little too much gain for me, or maybe it is just the voice of the pedal that I don't like as much as I like the B-Drive.

you could always pick up a 12AT7 and see if that does the trick for you, and if not, send it off to mike for the gain mod. the tube is easily reversable if you dont like it, but the gain mod might not be.

bass

Wow, I get so much more gain from the b-peg even modded for lower gain. Use a dimarzio will power pup into a creative audio redeemer circuit (buffer with no added gain) into a boss LMB-3 compressor. The high output of my bass makes it tough to get a good result with most pedals but, I'll never go with a lower output pickup because of the tone I get with it.

Hey

I've been wanting to build my own pedal board/rack, but have yet to receive my Bpeg (18wks and counting), to get proper measurements. I've got to get this build done soon though, 'cause the box currently being used is falling apart. So, might one of you Bpeg owners want to send me it's footprint? ...Actually, all three dimensions would be even better. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

Sousa's P-PEG is 5 5/8" W, 3 11/16" H (not including the 1/8" for the top jacks). with the feet, it is 2 3/4" tall to the top of the knobs.

Cool! Thanks Tink. That helps a bunch. Now, when you say it's 5 5/8" w, is that square (wxl)?

Sorry man. I wasn't being clear. I don't want square inches. Since you only gave the hight and width, I was asking if the width and length were the same. That is, each being 5 5/8"; therefore being square. If that's not the case, I would also need the length.

Thanks

It's a rectangolasaur. The 5 5/8 was the horizant and the 3 11/16 verticalicty.

Are you sure those are real words?

I believe what you're saying is that the footprint is 5 5/8" by 3 11/16" (plus an additional 1/8" for jack hight) and it stands 2 3/4" high. Right? Sorry I'm being so difficult; I just didn't fully comprehend Tink's description...Or your's for that matter!
