Thanks for the reassurance. I'm not worried. I'm sure it's just a few weeks away.

30 weeks?! That is ridiculous. I don't recall a disclaimer on the Swell site saying it could take that long. I'm disgusted!

It took at least twice as long as I was quoted to get my B-peg but, it wasn't 30 weeks. Mike is great to work with and really listens but, 30 weeks is far beyond reasonable.

30 weeks? My god. I got lucky and snagged my b-pro in the TB classifieds. I only had to wait a few days :-)

Normally I would say that the tone is worth the wait, but 30 weeks is pushing it...

UPDATE: It looks as though Swell is, indeed, closing down the shop but, as of now, all orders look to be in the process of being fulfilled.

I'll start this off by saying I've talked to Swell's biggest online dealer and they have confirmed he JUST sent out an email saying he shut down the business and they described it as "pretty sudden". I mean, no one should have after all of the above being said but DO NOT purchase anything from the Swell website.

That being said, I dealt with MikeO a little bit when I first got the whole Swell movement on here going and I ordered my B-Peg. It took twice as long as quoted to come in. He was really cool to talk to but his emails would always be way after I had sent mine and I got the impression that he was old school. A great builder but not into the current business model of.....well crap....I don't want to insult the older generation but just not that advanced on the computer stuff. I mean, check out the facebook page. That thing never gets any love. The website hasn't changed much. I know someone was saying that it looks bad on his part that the site is still up and taking orders, I know, from my own experience, that I have no clue how to change stuff on an HTML site and our band's site still has show dates listed from last year because my friend who does our site is so unreliable. I mean, the signs are bad but it's also possible he has no clue how to shut the site down and he's going to make good. But protect yourself. Contact the BBB. Seek any outlets you can to ensure your money is safe. I still kinda hold out hope that he got in WAY over his head, is completely and totally behind, but will fulfill past orders.

I won't lie, I tend to see the better in people, so I could totally get burned on this, but I've got a vested interest, here. Last month I was telling Mike that I loved the B-Peg but was wishing it had the lower gain mod that the recently current models had. He told me to send it in and that he would mod it free of charge. I offered to paypal money over but he refused it. So my pedal has been with him for about a month. So yeah, if people get burned, I'm one of them. I'm holding out hope that he's way behind and will still fulfill, though.

All that being said. Protect yourselves. After 30 weeks, don't hold out hope, I mean, I will, but my advice to others is to do whatever it takes to protect your investment. If anyone is interested in some Swell pedals, I know that there's some in stock at bassclubchicago.com, stevesmusiccenter.com (older versions), and worldmusicnashville.com.

Those are in stock and safe to order. Hope everything turns out well for everyone.

Oh man!! Bummer! I hope Mike can pull it through. I'd not like seeing another top dog tube driven unit fall down. Mike O. was informative and enjoyable everytime I spoke with him.

Mike was great to talk to and really understood the science. I guess that I'll be holding onto my low gain modded B-peg pretty tight.

Shoot. I guess that's why he hasn't responded to my emails in the past couple weeks. What am I suppose to do? I've never had this happen before. Do I contact BBB? If I contacted the police, would they even do anything?

If you used paypal you can file a claim or something. I'm waiting a bit longer and keeping my fingers crossed.

I'd pursue any angle you have to stay safe. BBB. Paypal. Credit Card. Whatever. Just like I said in the other thread before homeslice got his notice it was shipped to him, I really think you'll get it. And mine came back to me late last week. But keep us posted. Looks like there's still at least two orders out.

Very doubtful that the police will get involved over an internet sale dispute. Definitely hit up the BBB, credit card company or bank, paypal.

Hey peeps. Just talked to MikeO for about an hour. Swell will be officially closed next week as the last orders get shipped out. All orders will be fulfilled and he will always work on and honor warranties on old Swell pedals. I'll do a big write up about the rest of our talk when I get off work.

That's good to hear I really thought the company was on a roll I liked the concept and build quality of the pedals it looks like a tough business and nobody is really getting rich.

I received my B Drive yesterday. I love it. it has a very grizzly (and or) warm overdrive tone. I hope MikeO continues to make pedals in the future. MikeO also sent a T shirt and a note thanking me for my patience. Class act. Thanks MikeO.
