Swollen Pickle on the way

Sign in to disble this ad
I picked up a Swollen Pickle in the local classifieds, should be arriving in two days.

I read all the threads about it here, and was actually thinking of getting a Pickle Pie B, but I got the Swollen Pickle for a lot less used, and couldn't find a PPB to snatch up used.

Is the Swollen Pickle really that hard to control volume wise? Can't you just set it up nicely with the loudness pot so it doesn't overpower the clean signal too much?

I know I'll have to play with the internal trim pots to get a good sound of it, but I'm expecting it work out pretty darn good.

Be careful with the volume pot, of course, but it can be tamed indeed. If you need any pointers, you know where to find me.

this pedal works good on bass, however it takes time to find a good sound

Thanks man!

I've already read your favorite settings in one of the SP threads, and I'll be sure to try those out!

Yeah, like they said.

It's a great pedal. It is a little (maybe a lot) tricky to dial in. But, it's worth it!!!

I'd have to check. I have one setting I love and use all the time. Don't remeber it off hand. You can find a pic of my board on here somewhere and see the external knobs at least...

Honestly, I don't think it's that helpful with this one to get other people's settings. I tried a few that others recommended and they all sounded terrible to me, with my rig. Think this pedal is VERY interactive with your other gear, so you really just need to mess with each pot to see what they do for you and figure it out...

Tricky to dial in indeed. I traded mine in after a few weeks. Perhaps i should have given it more time.

The more i think about it the more i would love to hear a great tone recorded with one in the sweet spot. Anyone got a link they could post?

I only used it for about 2 seconds in just one spot on our last recording, it's not a great example, but it made it sound BIG. (it's at 2:48 on Cities of Lead if you really want to hear it - click on the link in my sig)
