Synth pedal or separate effects?

Hi guys! I'm new to the community and this is why I'm here: I'm thinking about getting a synth pedal (after reading some comments on the forums, my choice would be the EHX Bass Micro Synth) for the multiple sound possibilities of it.

I wonder what you think is the best for a better control of the sound. Do I buy a synth pedal, or do I buy all the effects separately? In the second option, could I really control my sound better?

I wish you understand what I mean, if not, just tell me and I'll try to be more explicit. (English is not my first language).
