| Synth quality between various BOSS gear

I've seen some praise for the older BOSS rack units such as the VF-1 and SE-70 and some good sound samples to back it up. From those who own them how do those older 90's units compare to the newer synth products in regards to tracking and actual synth quality?
What I mean is, do those products still compete with the newer SYB-5 or the synth in the GT-6B and other BOSS multi-effect floor products in regards to tracking and synth quality? |
