Synth-Tron+

So, i got my EHX XO Q-tron+ the other day, and put a MXR Bass Blowtorch and GLX Bass Chorus (Boss clone) in the FX loop.

i've got an 8 minute clip for you all, my playings pretty lame. (LOL @ hysteria- i keep forgetting it - ps: is Hysteria not the standard bass fuzz/synth clips that everyone which the gear does? :P i just had to throw it in just for jokes)

id list the settings, but as im using 3 different pedals, and my Deluxe jazz bass, i wont bother, coz its all variable really, but the blowtorch and chorus settings stay the same for the whole clip, as does the Qtron's PEAK and GAIN controls (BOOST is off) i switch between LP and MIX mode with each setting, then at the end ive use my GLX digital delay AFTER the Qtron setup.

i would put my Micro pog in there too, but when i did, i didnt really find anything that great (in my experience/opinion the MicroPOG and the Blowtorch never seem to bring out the best in eachother)

if it doesnt stream, try downloading it, you might need Firefox for make it stream, im not too sure

oh yeah, i recorded through my Line 6 Toneport GX, but turned off the modeling software, so in theory it should just pick up whats comming out of my pedalboard with no emulation.

enjoy

Cool sounds!

Thanks for the clip!

You can try to use the Micro POG before or after the Q-tron, outside the loop.

Cool sounds- good job playing them musically as well. I use the Blowtorch into the Qtron+ XO as well, and I really like the sounds you get when setting the Blowtorch up for a very high-gain synth fuzz- the combo sounds very synth-like that way.

yeah, i had a good experience with my Ibanez Synthesizer Bass pedal before the MicroPOG, but i felt that theres enuf going on for me sonically at the moment without the Micro POG, and as my guitarist has pretty much adopted it, i felt it wasnt best to get used to it in my setup, however im tempted to put it in a loop with my Ampeg Scrambler for and octave-up fuzz. as for the blowtorch, it was a natural addition, i was gonna use my MessDrive Hybrid+ but the blowtorch's already synthy fuzz was perfect, presonally i leave it at 750hz, mid on full, treble between half and full and Bass at about 11 o 'clock, blend is at about 3 o'clock just for some clean lows and gain is at max with the torch on, that way it isnt too peircing.

What settings do you have on the blowtorch? I can't get mine to sound that nice but it may be the Q-tron helping.

i mentioned my blowtorch settings above, but it sounds very different in the tron, plus the chorus brings out the upper harmonics really nicely and isnt quite as aggressive.
