Synthy settings for a groove regulator

Sign in to disble this ad
I did a search and didn't come up with anything so I figured I ask the experts.

I'm still in the experimental phase with my groove regulator and learning how to tweak the knobs and how to play the filter. I can get funky sounds in up mode, and with all the knobs counter-clockwise after an OC-2 I get a glorius deep bass tone.

As to synthy tone, I can't find a general setting that works. I have my Messdrive in the effects loop and have an OC-2 running before. Maybe I just don't know what synthy is supposed to sound like or maybe the groove regulator just isn't voiced for synthy.

Groove regulator users share you settings and ideas for synthy sounds.

I'm not a synth genius like a lot of the guys here, but I've found the envelope filer section of the oct/fuzz/filter combo to usually be less important than the other two. I'll try to make some sounds later and write down the settings for you.

Thanks.

Yeah, I have a feeling the Messdrive may be part of the culprit here. It may just not be a filter friendly fuzz. Regardless, I'm still unsure how to set the groove regulator for proper synth sounds.

I don't have a ton of experience with fuzzes and I've never tried a Messdrive, but I built a GGG muff clone that sounds pretty synthy in the loop. The settings I use on the Groove Regulator are: Attack almost full CCW, Decay at 2 o clock, Intensity full CW.
