T.C. Electronic Vintage Bass Distortion experiences??

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi!

Has anyone tried out the T.C. Electronic Bass Distortion?? I could get one quite cheap and I read on their page that it is already discontinued..

I want a thick heavy distortion, that I can also run into my light overdrive - the Fulltone Bass Drive.

And it looks promising with the Boost and Clean blend...

thx

The T.C. Electronics pedal is the same thing as the T-Rex Bass Juice, just in a different box.

Here is a video demo of the T-Rex Bass Juice:

Now I'm not saying that the pedal must sound that bad on every setting, but that fuzzy mushy garbage that guy got out of it completely turned me off from the T-Rex Bass Juice and therefore of course the T.C. Electronics Vintage Bass Distortion.

There are some better soundclips of the Bass Juice on the T Rex Homepage. Hope this helps,
Brent

Reeeeaaaalllly diggin' sound clip 1 and 2... the others are two much for 75% of my needs. But 1 and 2 are very very cool.

Reminds me of a Flipster pedals sound, but with the benefit of a Blend and a Boost/Fuzz also. Call me a heretic, but I'm contemplating selling my VT-bass in favor of a Bass Juice.

I own the VBD and it's a really great pedal.

I also bought it cheap from a danish store due to discontinuation. It's worth every cent IMO. It can cover a lot of sounds, and it's got a blender knob.

Go for it...

I just got one of these from ebay last week.
I got a good deal and always wanted to try one.

I was VERY disappointed until I started throwing some fuzz infront of it. It interacts with the b:assmaster really well. I was shocked at how it could handle that gain and actually add something interesting to an already saturated tone.

So I gave it more time and I played with the settings some more and found a "stand alone" sound I like.

This pedal, like alot of them, requires some time and experimentation to dial in ime.

ymmv.
