Thin Lizzy/Phil Lynott: Effects on S&M

Hi and hello to everyone!

I do not play bass, but sometimes i am playing bass lines on my guitar. As many know, Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy used flanger/phaser from time to time. My question is : what did he use in the song S & M from Black Rose? My guess would be flanger, just like in case of "waiting for an alibi"... Am I right?

Second question - do You know other bass players who used lots of flanger/phaser?

Thank You kind for Your answers and time taken,

Wanker5150

Yes, I would say flanger. He also used it on "Dancing In The Moonlight."

So, basically, depending on the settings, this bass line is flanger or phaser

I guess that "Black Rose" has to be awesome from the point of view of bass player?

Phaser versus flanger, TBH, I still have trouble telling them apart. Try both, pick the one you like best.
