Barge Concepts VB-JR?

http://www.bargeconcepts.com/vbjr.html

I've been eyeing one, just can't quite justify it

Barge is out of business, at least for now. If you can forego the blend knob and be OK with a 50/50 mix, then the [sfx] Mix is the smallest I know of: http://www.sfxsound.co.uk/mainpage.asp?page=splitmix (scroll down). All the other blend loops I can think of ATM are not much smaller than a Boss.

The problem with making tiny blend that small is the number of connections you need. Once you have put 4 jacks, a pot, a power connection, and some sort of switch you don't have much space left for the actual blend circuit.

Take a look at your example pedal. They had to offset the jacks to make them fit. Now add two more.... there just isn't room.

Going to a TRS connection could save one jack, at the cost of being a PITA.

I understand that it's not exactly an easy task to put all that stuff in a small box, but it would be worth it to own.

I just want to know whats out there.

Or 3.5mm jacks, but that's not exactly the most robust route.

Can we ask what you need the blend pedal for?

One control makes the mosquite blender which is the exact size you're looking for, even smaller than the t1m!

contact stellartone. they make micro gear--some half the size of what you have pictured, albeit mostly tone knobs. they do make blenders & dont see why they couldnt put a blend pot in one of these micro housings:

& here are the harnesses (scroll down for blend):

The T1M one is just an optical illusion, he put a huge knob on a standard pedal box. It's the same size as the Demeter Compulator, C-bread SFT, MXR Phase 90, etc. ...A tiny bit smaller than a Boss, but not as small as that knob makes it look.

Passive blending is a disaster in this context, it's only suitable for traditional J-bass harnesses (and only then if you happen to like that sound). We're not talking about a blend pot, we're talking about a slightly more complex circuit.

Gutshot here: http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model...ntrol/mosquite

Looks solid but passive.

edit: cancel that, might not be passive, there's a tiny black lump next to the LED that could be circuitry.

I missed that someone already mentioned it a couple posts up. oops...

gut shot here:

I'm guessing the switch is for phase reversal, but the company's website is tough to read...

EDIT AGAIN (you guys are fast around here!) - it is indeed active.

Never thought to check the website It looks like there is a small PCB board above the switch. You can just see two tiny electrolytic caps to the right and above the switch.

That is tight! Cool how they run the wires in the gap between the jacks and the box.

I take it back about the $150, you are paying for the labor needed to cram that all in.

There is that teeny-tiny circuitboard just north of the footswitch, where that micro dip switch is. Could be an actual buffer in there?

Edit: LOL, multiple too-fast posts.

It also looks like a custom box. Tooling for die-casting isn't cheap.
