Will report when I've got it.

I am pretty obsessed with getting a good delay in this size. The infinium looks killer, but I would rather have all the features of like the high end hardwire delay pedal- the black one, can't remember it's name. Instead of envelope filter and ring mod I would rather have more delay modes or models. I may end up going for that one and have my tiny board bookended by my TU-3 and a big delay. Are there any 1590a delays with dd-5 feature sets (or better)?

Mooer makes 4 different delay mini pedals (2 analog and 2 digital)

And I'm sure that you'll find other ones in other brands, but as Mooer tends to make their pedals inspired by famous ones it may be easyer to compare.

Ok, I’ve jammed a bit with the Pure Octave, and to summarize, I like it (for the price), was amused for hours. Only complaint is this off tune harmonic/tremolo/metallic-echo-like/warble? That is super evident on the upper octs. Anything with +2 is almost useless. On a plus note, the octaves levels can be blended and that’s where you start getting useable tones, just a touch of low(s) thickened it up. Having only highs or lows is possible. Doesn’t need to track as it does cords flawless. I think it would shine with a good source of dirt, which I don't possess rn , to get some sweet synthy grinds

On +1+2&-1 it totally nails the calypso steel drum on the upper frets; I almost got little mermaids Under the Sea figured out

I think I'm on to something with the steel pan music, i'm having too much fun.

overall cool pedal, but it does sound tremeloed like in its demo , which gets ridiculous quickly with higher upper levels so care must be taken.thats my only complaint. I love the size! I've developed an attitude problem towards pedal size since getting a BEF Pro.
I'm thinking of opening it up to look for any internal trims.

Mooer Blue Comp

Just had an email conversation with a bass-player selling a blue comp. Here's what he said:

Quote:
This is defiantly more of an 'effect' compressor than a transparent
one. There's a toggle switch between normal mode and treble. In treble mode
there is obviously a big loss in bottom end and in normal mode the low end
sounds like its starting to distort. There's a sweet spot if you roll the
sustain right down but then you get very little compression. Probably
better suited to guitar.
YMMV, of course, but his opinion makes me slightly less keen to try one out, even at discounted direct-from-china prices.

However I keep on hearing little snippets about the green mile on bass that suggest it's going to be good. I'll wait till a few days after I get mine (should be here in a day or two) and then let you know.

So where does the warble (or whatever you call it) become apparent ? Is it only on +2 (or +2 and +1) ? Or is it not so much the setting as the pitch it's producing ... e.g. mostly on +2 but coming on +1 if you play too high on the fingerboard.

What I'm really asking, I guess, is: Is it usable as a normal, warble-free, octave pedal at -1, no matter where you play going up the fingerboard (and down, I guess). In truth, the -1 is all I really care about, the +1 if it worked would be a bonus.

I really would use it primarily as a +1 pedal, blended in about 80% for a pseudo 8-string bass sound. How is it for that?

well thankfully on -1 &-2 the warble is "tolerable"(up and down the neck)(but it is there!!) or it'd be going up for resale asap. with just a touch of lows 8-12 Oclk) you get a nice FAT wall shaking usable effect with hardly noticeable warble. and a C-hair of +1 if you wish. but i have to admit you can dial in a very convicing 8 string sound, i've owned a couple Kramer 8's.naturally aluminum necks went Bllrrrrraaaang!
to summerize. using the pedal strictly -1 and or -2,the pedal is very usable, especially for the price and size.
7 oclock being OFF or zero, for +1 anything past 11 just gets unusable warble wise. and it is the effect itself, shut lows, dry off , anything obove has a ridiculous tremelo, all by itself. at first i thought it was harmonics off the dry signal like it was off 1/2 cent or something, but it is just the nature of the beast i guess, seeing that it doesn't have to track, it uses some other type of processing.
any setting using a +2 will give you the steel pan effect.so far the coolest setting is just -2/-1, where each low can be seperaltely adjusted, simple and Huge sounds. but to help fill in those guitarish spots in a three piece like i need, i'm not too thrilled.
I need a dirt pedal in a serious way! i'm eyeing that Green Mile too.but ts9 type distortion bores me. another one that interests me more is the Blue Mood i think? Blue something overdrive. they say works with bass?

Green Mile arrived today and I've had 20 mins playing time on it. First impressions ... very bass friendly. If I was buying just one distortion and I'd tried this up against the Hustle Drive in a shop, the Green Mile is the one I would have walked away with.

More later ....

Hmmm maybe I'll get one after all ...

Blues Mood is the one that Mooer claim is suitable for bass. I'm not sure it's for sale anywhere yet though.

I have the Blues Crab, allegedly a blues breaker clone, and from what I read about the bluesbreaker I thought it would suit bass. Weellllll ... kind of does. It works for me, given that I cut a lot of highs on the amp (or with my B3 pedal). It seems to dial in a lot of extra high-mids and highs the more you turn the gain up. For me, with the gain set at about 2 o'clock it generates a nice valvey growl at the low end. Set it any higher than that and I get a lot of excess noise and treble. In my setup, it works (at 2 o'clock), not sure it would work for everyone though.

Not one for me, but that packs a lot of features for a small pedal. That's a pedal maker to keep an eye on.
