Question Toadworks Redux

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking into a Toadworks Redux. I've seen one for a good price used and am wondering if anyone in the FX forums has one. I tried doing a search and came up with 5 threads total . None of them really giving anyones opinions (I saw Mutt said he had one "en route").

At any rate if you have one...how do you like it? Is it if good for bass? Is it a clone; GGG/BYOC thing? Toadworks is based here in Spokane so that is a little incentive for me. I definitely condone buying locally.

I don't have any experience with it, but I have to say that it looks like a very cool pedal! If you decide to pick one up I'd love to hear about it. I like nice simple delays, right now I use an MXR Carbon Copy, but unfortunately the modulation on that doesn't do much for my bass so that Toadworks pedal could be really cool...

Buy local!

I got the impression those guys were pretty nice. Contact them! Maybe they can point you to a local shop where you can try one out, or give you a factory tour!

I had one incoming, but a few weeks later off it went again.
It was a really cool pedal, did a lot of things (the second delay is a very unique feature).

My only complaint was that the delay was tuned a little higher than I wanted. (sounded more bright, and not as dark.) If bright's your thing for your delays, it's probably the one for you. The features are great, and it's an all-around great pedal. Should I ever decide to make a dedicated g****r board, I'd probably get another.

I contacted the fella selling it. It is on CL here in Spokaloo. Hopefully it is still available. It is a really good price as well.

My sound is very dark and the lows are very full. The accented highs might work quite well with my sound. If not I can always eq a different channel on my PBDDI and try to dig out some of that brightness.

I'm going to pull the trigger if it is still available. I'm excited to try it and hear how it sounds. It will be interesting to experiment with the time offsets as well. If it turns out to not be for me; I'm in a band and can sell it to the guitard.

Update

The fella got back in touch with me. I'm going to trade my mid sucking Sansamp BDDI programmable straight across for the Redux. I'm also going to sell him my further mid sucking BBE Sonic Stomp, thus freeing up some space on my board. The transaction goes down tomorrow.

Alright! Again I would appreciate if you could post your impressions of the pedal when you've had a chance to try it out.

Will do. I have no way to record ATM it but plans are in the works for that. If there is any interest and when I figure out how to do it; I'll post some soundclips.

Yeah, I'd definitely be interested in soundclips if you can do that, whenever you are able to do that.
