I just got this thing today, so I certainly can't give a real review yet, however I am excited enough by it that I wanted to go ahead and get the word out there. I get PM's and emails all the time from people who want something a bit better quality than the "cheap" options, but not as expensive as the Demeter, EBS, or Maxon. Finally, there is a good option for that middle ground.
The sound quality is very similar to the BBE Opto Stomp; perhaps a bit better in the lows, but not hugely different. However what really makes it better is it has a wide-range input gain control for setting the threshold, and a very wide range of compression strength from "barely noticeable" to "hard limiting", and a very effective "attack" control.
The switch is not true bypass, but the bypass is quite clean. The big odd-shaped casing is just for looks--the components inside could easily fit in a housing half that size. It runs on normal Boss-type 9VDC.
Anyway, I will of course be posting a "real" review on my site after I've had more time to really work with it. It sells for about $122 new, and I have to say it provides a
lot of value for the money; much more than anything else competing in that price range. I'm not sure it could kick any of my more high-end comps off the pedalboard, but then again... maybe! Time will tell.
