Hey there, I am thinking of purchasing a Tone Bone: Bassbone, and I wanted to get some feedback on it from anyone who has one, or has used one. Thanks!

Cheers,

Jon

Great 2 channel DI - I have one on my pedal board. Channel 1 has a switch for either a flat eq or 2 presets, ch 2 has bass, mid and treb controls. I have used the fx loop in the past but now I just run my pedals in front of it. A sansamp has multi channels with tube emulation also but if you don't need that the Radial BB is as good as many products on the market.

The Radial is good (had one for two years), but I'm really liking the EBS MultiBass II a lot better, and I've only used it once at church thus far. The Radial is a solid piece of equipment, but from using it as my gigging rig for church, it had some "flaws" that in the end I couldn't deal with.

My biggest complaint was no mute switch. Forget turning your bass volume all the way off; a mute switch is just handy. Sure, you can put a stereo adaptor in the fx loop and make the Boost/FX stomp a mute, but then you can't use the fx loop or the boost. The EBS has a separate mute switch and while it doesn't have an fx loop you can turn on/off like the Radial, I have a looper if I need to switch out pedals.

I like the eq voicings on the EBS better as well. The soundguy (we have a competent one) at church noted how much less eq'ing he had to do with me with the EBS over the Radial, even with the presets.

You can't go wrong with the BassBone, but I think that there are other options out there that may fit your needs better, as the EBS did for me.

I got a mint condition one in a trade here on TB. I really do like it. We recently did a big outdoor festival and the soundguy used was extremely picky about the tone he gets with the bass. I sent the DI from the BB instead of my Markbass head and the guy loved it. He said he usually has to tweak something when the bassist plugs in, but mine needed nothing. So, I do like the DI on it alot.

I use 2 basses at gigs and swap back and forth (4 & 5 strings) and it makes it a breeze. So overall, I highly recommend it.
