Tonebender Clone Build (Now with 100% More Soundclips)

Sign in to disble this ad
Guys, I updated my build page with sound clips of the pedal in action. Comments are welcome.

Personally, I don't think it sounds as cool as the clip that Chronicle recorded with his Ric in the other thread, but I don't have a Ric, so I can't directly compare.

I didn't mention it on the page, but the signal chain was Bass->Pedal->Kern->MBox. The Kern had Treble at 12 o'clock, Mids at 2 o'clock, and Bass at 2 o'clock for all the clips.

Also, I tried to edit the title of the other thread I stated, and I couldn't. So I tried to close it, and I couldn't do that either. So I just made this new thread.

How long are you listening to each mp3 for?

Hey trooper,

I was listening to your clips. You can definately tell the difference between the silicon and germanium. Yours is much smoother than the silicon based ones.

Just to give you another comparison, I did a quick Youtube clip (can't record to my pc right now). I used a P-Bass as I noticed you also have one. The clip is only short and my camera did the tonebender no justice at all, but you can still hear its a bit harsher. Seeing as you did your clips in a Muse kinda style (i think) I did too I think mine is kinda in fast forward though, havn't heard the song for ages !!

Awesome, I appreciate it. I'm still not sure if mine has the true Tonebender character, but it does sound good.

UPDATE: I swapped the transistors around, and got better results. It sounds similar to the way it did before, but better, IMO. Updates are on the same site.
