If you had do an unknown audition and could only bring 5 pedals including a tuner what would they be?
(only one multi function pedal allowed)

I'd bring the "we've done this thread dozens of times already" pedal.

I went with:
Maxon CP9 pro+
King of Tone
Thor
Ibanez AD9
Maxon FL9 (guitarist is phaser happy, so I left mine home and brought the flanger) |

As much as I love effects & use them often- they're not necessarily the best way to "introduce yourself" as a bass player. |

In other words, it entirely depends on the situation. Probably a good idea to show up on time, everything else varies.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Dallas, TX | | | I've bought somewhere around 50 effects pedals over the last 3 yrs. Agonized for weeks and months at a time, as to which I liked, what I still needed, what might be better, how to arrange them, etc. Finally, after all this turmoil, I cut it all down to the 11 pedals I can't live without, and somehow fit them all onto a PT-1, and you want me to get rid of more than half!!??!! No way bro, I show up for the audition with the full board, and if they don't like it, I don't want to play with them. In fact, my current band, with 2 guitarists, love the fact that my board is bigger than both of theirs combined. (one uses a multi, the other, a 6 pedal affair). Mostly, because of this very forum, pandora's box has been opened, and I've become an addict of sorts. I'm not complaining.

probably pitchblack, BBM, ashdown lomenzo, and possibly either a chorus / flanger, and an MXR M80 just in case.
