Do you have sound clips of you're tone to compare with the YouTube version?

After a few hours of experimenting, I figured out what was wrong.

In order for this pedal to work properly, it has to be FIRST in the pedal chain. If not first, then only after True Bypass pedals. I had it after my BOSS pedal tuner (not true bypass) and it sucked all the life from the Sasquatch. So much so that the "Anger" mode WOULD NOT WORK if put after the BOSS tuner.

So I swapped out the BOSS tuner for a true bypass KORG tuner and things are going much better. Here's a pic of my new board set-up.

So far, so good. But, the Sasquatch is very sensitive and takes some time to master. Lots of wild tones out of this thing.

Likes to be first in the chain...doesn't like buffers...has a biting, synthy kind of fuzz...

I smell a Mammoth clone.

A lot of fuzzface type fuzzes do this, the HAO The Roar is the same way.

Ok... here's my NEW issue. This pedal really rocks when the "Howl" is cranked.
In fact, the only way the "Anger" knob is really useful is when the "Howl" is cranked.

This now poses the problem of my MarkBass head clipping every time I kick in the Sasquatch.

I have a Line6 Compressor at the end of my chain that helps a little, but it squashes the sound I like in the first place.
I want to kick on the Sasquatch without clipping my amp. What can I put after it to make this happen?

Can anyone help me out on this?

Are you running everything at unity? If so, then all I can suggest is turning down the input gain on the MB and cranking up the master.

Forgive my ignorance on this topic.
I always set my gain on my MarkBass head to a level where is just under where my hardest hitting notes clip the amp (blue light)
I then try to set my pedals to the same level.
(like my bass drive, octave, etc...) so there is no clipping.

The problem with the Sasquatch is that it is really useful and sounds awesome with the "Howl" (volume level) cranked.
This REALLY clips the amp hard.

I was thinking about using something like an eq pedal. But just setting it flat and lowering the output level.

I know there are plenty of gain boosters on the market. How about a gain reducer that I could put after the Sasquatch.

From what I understand, people have similar issues with the ZVex Fuzz Factory.

I just want the awesome fuzz tone without the jump in volume and possible damage to my head.

You can always use looper with volume control like Boss LS. Simply put Sasquatch into the loop, set the controls and then take down some of the volume with looper's knob.

I have a T.B. looper on the way!
Gonna try the Sasquatch and EQ (with output lowered) idea.

think" we can.... haha sorry. also i would think your fuzz would benefit with rearrangement of your octave pedals.

Sasquatch is germanium Fuzz Face clone, so maybe it needs separate or isolated power source.

You could get one of these http://www.roadrageprogear.com/vv1001.html to set your effects chain to unity. It says it's only $25.99 so it's not a huge investment but it seems pretty useful.

MWAH!

The Sasquatch is a BYOC Fuzz Face with mods from Beavis Audio. The maker is on the BYOC forums, too. I think that pedal sounds terrific in the Youtube video I saw, and it even made the Anger (feedback loop) sound amazing. I'm'uh build one, absolutely!
