Trace Elliot SMX Dual-Band vs FEALabs SMX / Dual-Band

I have the option of the getting an original TE SMX Dual Comp or holding out for one of Franks' Dual-Band Compressors'.

The TE is cosmetically banged up --but functionally perfect. Seller wants 150+shipping for it.

I've read both reviews over at Bongos' site. Just wondering what the community thinks as to which is the more highly regarded comp. Does the "cult-status" of the TE SMX demand I get it while I can ?

I was lucky enough to buy my friends' Trace Elliot SMX for $20. It defines my sound, and I absolutely think it's the perfect compression barring a boutique tube pedal.

I also settled on the SMX (though not for $20!).

Perfect match for my TE Series 6 head and 1528 cab, all thanks to TB members!
