Question Tracking woes: My bass? My pedal? My technique??

heyy fellas

i just nabbed a boss PS-3 from gubna (who shipped promptly and packed in an awesome manner).

Upon trying it out, i'm in love with all the crazy tones I can get out of this thing. The only problem is that I can't get mine to track like other people have talked about. The octave up is sometimes almost ring mod sounding because it wont track the majority of the notes I'm playing.

I whipped out the tuner and made sure my pitch was perfect, and redid the intonation on my bass aswell. I tried playing on different locations to see if I could get a clearer tone running into it near the bridge.

I'm powering it with a godlyke powerall, along with 8 other pedals. I dont know if maybe it requires it own power supply? My bass is a fender jazz with medium output. And I'm pretty sure i'm giving it a pretty loud signal.

I'm really eager to use this pedal live and in recordings. Its exactly what I was looking for to widen my tone. But the slight off pitch might kill it for me.

What would you guys reccomend I try????
