Side note: Trent looks like Nick Cave there. |

by gated fuzz, you mean he's using something like an ISP Decimator + fuzz pedal into a clean bass amp? |

No, not a noise gate. Search gated fuzz. That's the chokey, sputtery sound you hear. |

There are a few Devi Ever fuzzes that are gated, such as the Legend of Fuzz/Bit, the OK, the Bass Fuzz/Supermassive Black Hole. The Copilot Orbit is a gated fuzz + some other synthy extras. Chunk Systems Brown Dog. I'm sure there are a lot more, that's just off the top of my head. |

Who is the guy singing by the way? The song is good, but weird remix man.

The Brown Dog by Chunk Systems is still the best gated fuzz for bass I've heard. Too bad it's awkwardly shaped and has an unacceptably bleedy bypass (making it a great candidate for re-housing).
The Zoom Ultra Fuzz is another gated fuzz that may be worth digging for. out of production but usually quite affordable when it turns up. I havent used one but gyrgx made some very impressive samples... |

greez | even if he IS using a noise gate, that's not what's responsible for the fuzz sound. a gated fuzz has a gate within its circuit - you can't approximate it with a noise gate before or after.
he also has a couple synthesizers in front of him that he could be routing his signal through - so let your imagination run wild! |
