hello all - well I'm new here so please politely move this if i've landed on the wrong-flavoured subforum..
I'd like to be able to emulate the spiders from mars era Trevor Bolder sound, preferably (ideally) with a simple little pedal.
A quick search around here suggests he played through a big marshall guitar head an a stack of 4x15s
looks like mustang through a big heap of marshall (4x12) here - this is exactly the sound i'm looking for:

any thoughts on this? I'm liking the sound of the various svt-esque pedals coming out, but they don't really sound like this... would a marshall emulator from 6-string land do it? something like a catalinbread dirty little secret?
Is this an easy sound to get? my cheap-ass gear certainly struggles... uh maybe it's just my skills that aren't there
Anyone here got that sound successfully without a £3000 van-load of gear?
