TREX Bass Juice

Dominant the Australian Distributers have lent me the sample bass board from TREX, including a Roomate tube reverb, a Squeezer Tube compressor, the Sweeper Chorus, and the Bass Juice distortion.

Are there any Bass Juice users here? Its my pick of the bunch and seriously considering buying one. I'd love peoples thoughts on the pedal, as I haven't seen much love for it here.

You know, I think I've seen maybe one person on here who has it. It certainly does look interesting, but I haven't heard sound clips of it.

So if you could rustle up some soundclips for everyone, that'd be great.

+1. All I know is it's made by TRex, expensive, and probably sounds great.

A lot of the Danes are not impressed with it. From what I've heard (soundclips), neither am I.

A classic response is that it's got a thin and empty sound.

Well I use one, and I love it. I run the mix control at no more than half, but commonly very low, so I don't lose the lowend. Sadly I think she's going to be replaced with a bogdan polish love, but we shall see.

I've been curious to try out a Bass Juice but haven't been able to find one locally. However, I do own a Mudhoney and IMO, it's f'ing incredible! It has the widest range of usable dirt tones of anything else I have tried. I know that people say that about a lot of pedals, but in this case it's the absolute truth. If the Bass Juice is anything like the Mudhoney, I'll bet it's great.

I've been curious about the Sweeper, too. Any comments about that one?

Interesting. I found it to be a fairly full sounding distortion, but I've recently been using MXR Distortion + and Boss DS1 in the board, which a not bass overdrive pedals. Unfortunately a lot of the cool pedals seen on Talkbass aren't readily available in Australia.

The Squeezer is a fairly good compressor, to be honest compression is an effect I'm not really that clued up about, so having attack and release adjustment usually confuses me. Threshold and Gain usually do me fine

I'm very impressed by the Sweeper Chorus though. Very nice tones, certainly kicks butt over my Boss CEB3!

Well, aside from the taste aspect, I certainly can say that the sound is definitely not thin. I'm serious here : I own one and besides me, it has convinced about every friend looking for a distortion/fuzz that sounds really fat, I mean unlike a guitar pedal used with a bass for example.

I think I'd buy one blind, just based on how much I love my Squeezer. It's not like I've never done that before, and been pleasantly surprised, (sometimes).
