Tri-logic Bass preamp vs. Bassbone

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone. I'd like to get some advice. I have a Radial Bassbone, (I play a white Yamaha RBX5-a2) and i'm considering buying one of the Tri-logic bass preamps. It sounds so good, but i'm wondering if i'd be counteracting my Bassbone by using both.

Like, the Bassbone has some EQ features on it, but only just enough to send out a solid signal.... I'm wondering if the Tri-Logic is comparable, or if it's offering an EQ bed many times more powerful than the Bassbone. I keep hoping that it's the latter.

I'd like as many replies as possible, even better, from those of you who have experience with these pedals.

Hope you guys can help me!

"Powerful" in what way, for what purpose? What is it that you hope to achieve? What amp are you playing through?

Well by "Powerful" I mean by how what the EQ spectrum is like on the tri-logic, cuz I'm hoping to achieve a rounder tone, with deeper frequencies. Amp-wise, I am not playing through anything really worth mentioning atm. Just a small practice amp

If all you've got is a small practice amp, nothing will "fatten" up your tone, or get it "rounder" better than a bigger amp. Instead of spending money on pedals to improve your tone, save up and buy a good amp. A good amp is the basis of your tone, and pedals are merely enhancements. For the price of a TriLogic, you're well on your way to owning a decent sized amp. Ok, maybe not well on your way, but, you get the idea.

Agreed completely, and that's what I suspected was going on. Please do not waste any more money on preamp pedals hoping to get a bigger, better sound through a tiny practice amp. Get a better "real" amp and you may find you don't need any pedals to get a big sound. Get the best pedals in the world, and through a tiny amp they will all sound weak, especially in the lows.

Yea I get what you guys are sayin. For the record though I wasn't going to continue just buying pedals, but I just wanted somethin neat for the times I play through something bigger, and well It was relatively cheap and accessible to get something like the Bassbone for when I play through anything at all! buying a proper sized amp of my own isn't on the cards for a while, and I was just trying to get a EQ for EQ comparison from those who might know the pedals.

Thanks for the input still.
