Not a month goes by in the 10 years I've known her where my wife doesn't say that.

I wouldn't think of the two as competition for each other as they're based around pretty different circuits. Both sounded very good though- my Oxide should be here in a week or two, so I'm really jazzed. When it does, I'll have three synthy fuzzes (Oxide, Blowtorch, Devi Ever Bass Fuzz). I'm curious if the Oxide will knock one of the other two off of my board.

I don't think of them as competition; I like them both a lot and they're both on my board. I tend to use them in different bands and musical contexts... the Tri Pie 70 is the main fuzz in my rock band (cause it's more of a straight muff derived fuzz) and the Oxide is the main fuzz in my dub/electronica as well as the reggae/jam bands I play in (cause the Oxide has more of a modulation in the harmonic type of fuzz tone).

I had some spare time and thought I'd try setting them similarly and compare them.

you know, i always think of Home Movies when i hear/think that. i never watched the Bad News Bears and never heard the original quote. it just REALLY sounds like something McGuirk would say. so before somebody told me what it was from i had convinced my brain meats that it WAS something McGuirk had said.

It's actually from The Sandlot, but they're mostly the same.

Just be thankful their not ring mods. Five years from now you could look down at your board and see 8 ring mods, and suddenly realize you have no idea what kind of music you've been making with them.
