Trouble with EHX DMB

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello fellow effects junkies.

I have an Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Boy. I reallllllly like it, except for one little complaint. When I listen closely it has a bit of a Crunch( crunch....crunch.....crunch...crunch) going on. Even with the gain pot set to about 9 o'clock. This is the first analog delay I've owned.

Options.
1: I have a Faulty Unit
2: This is the sound of this pedal
3: This is the sound of analog delays

I'd love some help. Thanks!!!!

Analog delays can have a tendency to break/dirty up sometimes, but nothing I would call a crunch. Think you could capture the sound for us?

As an former owner of the DMB I have experienced the same things that you are. It is what ultimately kicked it out of my collection.

that may also have to do with the delay time. Does it happen as noticeably on shorter delays?

also recently bought one, found a hiss(crunch?) with the echoes when im powering it via daisy chain. so im now powering it with its own PS, solved.

i didnt notice this at church when i first played it. maybe because i used a bigger amp? more guitards to cover the noise? i dont know.... will be trying this out again nxt practice. hopefully it all works well.
