Super weird that he keeps a Ridge Farms Gas Cooker in his power amp rack. It's practically the only boutique piece in his rig.

What I find interesting is him using a BDDI and XXL. I thought he endorsed (or was endorsed by) MXR and used the M-80, or whatever the bass DI is called.

EDIT: based on my use of a PDDI in the past I must say that between the BDDI and the SVT 2-Pro all tube amps he shouldn't need any compression. He'd get all the compression "effect" he needs from pushing the tubes in the amps, and going for at least a light overdrive on the BDDI.

haha... thats pretty funny. i seriously would have thought he had a comp though?? he moves around a lot on stage and i would think that keeping a steady attack with his fingers would be hard.

You should hear him tear it up on some old Infectious Grooves records.

Someone really needs to shoot the label people making these decisions. I hear so many albums these days destroyed by this crap.

For distortion. Lots of bassists (who carry large stage rigs or have roadies) use a guitar amp for their distortion channel.

It sounds good even in the POD X3 world -- and is much easier to carry.
